Neuschwanstein stands on a hill above the Bavarian conifers, spires and towers, and it is the castle everyone recognises before they have been.
This ticket takes the queue out of the day: the entry is skip-the-line, and the walk up through the castle grounds is done with a guide who covers the building, Bavarian history and the life of Ludwig II.
One seasonal point worth reading before booking. The Marienbrücke, which gives the view of the castle that people come for, is on this itinerary in summer. Outside those months the walk stays on the ground below it.
And one more: this ticket cannot be cancelled or refunded.
