Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath with Queen Mary's Dolls' House
Ratings collected by Civitatis
Grosvenor Garden, Stop Z6Ten and a half to eleven hours, three sites, and a ticket you assemble yourself at booking. One detail worth knowing before you choose: the guides do not go inside the monuments.
Windsor Castle is less than an hour out of central London. The round tower rises 65.5 metres above gardens that run right around it. Inside are decorated rooms hung with paintings, St George's Chapel, and the piece most people remember: Queen Mary's Dolls' House, built by over 1,500 craftsmen, with hot running water and electricity that work.
Stonehenge stands on Salisbury Plain, nearly 5,000 years old, its stones weighing about 40 tons each. Who raised them and why has never been settled.
Bath sits on the River Avon and was the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in the UK. Free time there covers the 15th-century Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge, which gets compared to the Ponte Vecchio often enough that the comparison has stuck. A ticket to the Roman Baths can be added at booking: the thermal springs that gave the city its name, the only natural hot springs in the country, and a chance to taste the water.
The three ticket options are the day trip without entries, the day trip with Windsor Castle and Stonehenge, or the same with the Roman Baths added. Without tickets there is free time at each site instead, and a regrouping point is set for carrying on.
Two more things. Windsor Castle is a working royal residence, so closures can move, and St George's Chapel is closed to visitors on Sundays. The itinerary can change.
